Setzy · Last updated 3 September 2026

Setzy is a free workout tracker built and run by one person — Samuel Diny. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, email me. It reaches a human, and I read all of it.

hello@setzy.app — questions, bugs, feature requests, anything.
privacy@setzy.app — to access, export or delete your data.
report@setzy.app — to report a profile or a published plan.

When reporting a bug, the useful things are: your phone and iOS or Android version, what you were doing, and what happened instead. A screenshot beats a description. If a number looked wrong, tell me which screen and what you expected — Setzy computes everything from sets you logged, so a wrong number is a real bug and I want to find it.

Common questions

Does Setzy work without signal?

Yes, and this is the main thing it is built around. Everything is stored on your phone first, so logging works in a basement gym with no bars. When you reconnect it syncs on its own. You never have to think about it, and you never lose a set because a request failed.

I signed out. Where did my workouts go?

Nothing is lost. Signing out does not delete anything — your data stays on your account. Sign back in, on this phone or a new one, and it comes back. Only deleting your account removes data.

How do I get my data out?

Account → Your data → Export all my data. You get a ZIP of CSV files — workouts, every set, plans, body weight and measurements — that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. No request, no waiting, nothing to ask permission for.

How do I delete my account?

Account → Danger → Delete my account. It removes your workouts, sets, plans, body weight, measurements, targets, gyms, custom exercises, profile picture, posts and profile, along with the copy on your phone. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

Two things are handled differently on purpose: plans you published stay up, anonymised, because other people have adopted them and are training on them — the author shows as "Deleted user" and nothing links it to you. And your handle is retired rather than freed, so nobody can later take it and be mistaken for you.

Are my progress photos uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no server table, no storage bucket and no upload path for them — not a setting that is switched off, but nothing on our side for them to go to. They live in the app's private storage on your phone. The flip side: if you delete the app or lose the phone, they are gone, including from me, because I never had them. Back up the phone if they matter.

Who can see my workouts?

Nobody, unless you choose it. Your profile is private by default and following you needs your approval. Sharing a workout shows followers its title, duration, set count and total volume — never your individual sets. A share link is public to anyone holding it and shows the same summary. Your body measurements are never shown to anyone, by any feature.

My password reset email did not work

Open the link on the phone that has Setzy installed. Opened on a laptop it lands in a browser and cannot reach the app. If it has not arrived at all, check spam, then email me.

Why does it say "est." next to my one-rep max?

Because it is an estimate calculated from reps you actually performed, not a weight you lifted. Setzy will not claim you lifted something you did not. Do not attempt a lift because a number appeared on a screen.

Where is my streak?

There isn't one, deliberately. A streak punishes rest days, illness and deloads — all of which are part of training — and it turns a training log into something that makes you feel bad for living a life. Setzy counts workouts per week instead: it goes up when you train and never down.

Can I bring my history from another app?

Account → Data → Import from another app. Setzy reads exports from Strong, Hevy, Trainerize and its own export format. Exercises it does not recognise become custom ones, and it shows you what it matched before anything is saved.

Does it work with Apple Health?

Account → Data → Apple Health, and it is off until you turn it on. Setzy can add finished workouts to Health, and read body weight, height, waist and body fat so you are not typing numbers twice. It reads nothing else — not heart rate, not steps, not sleep. On Android the same works through Health Connect.

How old do I have to be?

Setzy is for people aged 16 and over.

Something is wrong with a number

Tell me. Every figure in Setzy is computed from sets you logged — nothing is estimated, smoothed or filled in — so if a total, a chart or a record looks wrong, that is a bug rather than a rounding choice. Send the screen, the number you saw, and the number you expected.

Reporting content or a person

Every profile and every published plan has a Report control in the app, and you can block anyone — blocking removes any follow between you in both directions. Reports are anonymous. I act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. The full rules are at Rules on Published Content.
